CoreCooling

I received the CoreCooling products only a couple of days before the IM Kona race. Since I had seen the very positive results that were measured in the test that was done by 2 triathletes in The Netherlands at 3in1Sports centre, I was very interested in trying it.

I was a bit skeptical and wanted to be sure about the CoreCooling effect, before deciding to use to during the race.

The swimming with the base-layer did not give any negative effect. Therefore I can already wear it from the start, so I do not loose any time during T1 or T2 to put it on.

I used the CoreCooling with ice in the pockets and I noticed that my core temperature stayed under 38.0°C (100.4°F). In the days before, when I did the same training in the same circumstance, also at the same power pace, my core temperature was 38.6°C (101.5°F)degrees on average. So while using CoreCooling I measured my core temperature stayed more than 0.6°C (1.1°F) lower, this is a huge difference!

Also, the ice-cubes stayed 'icy' in the pockets of the CoreCooling on the blue fabric for 30-45 minutes, that is crazy much longer than ice-cubes on skin directly!

So I decided to put it on during the IM Kona race. But unfortunately the poisoning effects from the jellyfish bites during the swim were so intensely hurting, that I could not ride any further after 1h45 on the bike...
